Wait. You're getting married? Or are you already married?

We got married in the eyes of the law (and Premera Insurance Company) on 25th November 2008. We trekked down to the courthouse with our friends Cathy and Shannon as witnesses and got married by Judge Eileen Kato, who was completely awesome. So yes, legally we're already married, but it won't feel the same until we're able to share the joy with our loved ones. That's why we're having the event on 28th February.

Will there be a ceremony?

Yes, but it will be very informal and brief. We'll do it at Elemental (map), where we're having the reception, at 6pm sharp. After the ceremony, the party begins!

So I should be there before 6pm, right?

Right. Please plan on arriving no later than 5.30pm.

Is there going to be a toast / first dance / smooshing of cake?

Hell, we don't know. Except for the cake part. There will be no smooshing. Our cake RULES. Stay tuned; we're figuring this out as we go.

Have you booked any hotel rooms for the event?

No, but we have a number of suggestions...

What hotels do you suggest?

The Silver Cloud on Broadway

It's close to downtown Seattle and Capitol Hill, nice, and moderately priced. We have called them about wedding deals, and if you mention to them you're with a wedding party, they may give you a discount; they quoted around $149 a night to us. It's not bad for the area and the market.

Ace Hotel

This one's smack in the middle of Downtown and close to Pike's Market, and it's cheap. The downside: the rooms are tiny, and unless you get a deluxe room, you have to share a bathroom. They have very limited availability, but they're very hip and cool looking. Better for people who have a tolerance for a little dorm-style living.

Hotel Sorrento

Close to downtown and Capitol Hill, luxurious, and a bit pricey. If your budget permits, it's a very nice place to stay, and very accommodating to special needs.

Where are you registered?

We are registered at Amazon. However, we're blessed to have most everything we really need in life, so if you want to give a gift, please think about donating to one of the causes listed on our main page. They're organizations that are dear to us.

Is there fun to be had even BEFORE Saturday the 28th?

With friends like ours, how couldn't there be? We want to spend all the time we can with friends and family while you're here, so we've organized a couple of informal gatherings beforehand. You're welcome to come to one or both.

Thursday, 26th February (12:00p - 9:00p or so) - Open house at Matt & Dana's (map)

Friday, 27th February (meet @ 3:00p) - Fun at The Garage! (map)

We're very excited and looking forward to seeing everyone!
